Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan

Aug

Raksha Bandhan, also known as Rakhi, is a traditional Hindu festival that celebrates the special bond of love, care, and protection between brothers and sisters. The festival is observed every year on the full moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Shravan, which usually falls in August. On this day, sisters tie a sacred thread called a “Rakhi” around their brothers’ wrists as a symbol of affection and prayers for their well-being. In return, brothers promise to protect and support their sisters throughout life and often give gifts as a token of love. Raksha Bandhan strengthens family relationships and promotes feelings of unity, respect, and togetherness among siblings.
